Cardio Pulmonary

“’In Our Room’ is my first album with the name Cardio Pulmonary. The songs were written between the period of 2008 and 2009 while I lived at the Vermont House in Los Angeles. The Vermont House was a great place that had lots of amazing shows and was a somewhat known venue in Los Angeles. Most of the songs were written while I was living in the downstairs (“the dungeon” as it was called) with Meagan Boyd. This place was the place that we loved, gave love to others and eventually separated.

I was very prolific at this time and had about 30 songs to choose from. My favorite 12 are what comprises ‘In Our Room’. Although the songs are all conceptually different, the idea of the album title is that this space, “the dungeon”, was the facilitator to a wealth of artistic creativity for both me and Meagan. We grew as artists tremendously during this time and these songs are almost like the bridging points between my former self and current self. Some of these songs are about love, some are about the breakup, most are about transition and discovery. I hope you enjoy these songs, I am very connected to them.” – Isaac Takeuchi (Cardio Pulmonary)

Although In Our Room is not an official How To Be A Microwave release, I thought I’d post it up here since Isaac Takeuchi aka Cardio Pulmonary is an important member of the Microwave family. He has mixed remixed and mastered many of the tracks by artists we’ve released. – Dustin
